Brocade to open DIC office for ME

US networks solution provider Brocade Communications has established itself in the Middle East with a first office at Dubai Internet City (DIC).

Its customer list includes Hewlett Packard, IBM, Sun Microsystems, AMC, Fujitsu, SGI, ADIC and Bull.

Avaya appoints Lucey for EMEA

Avaya has appointed Morag Lucey as vice president of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) marketing. Lucey will be based in Guildford, England, where she will be responsible for all marketing activities in the region covering all of Avaya's segments, channels and solutions. Lucey has been with Avaya since 2001, managing global marketing for Avaya’s small and medium-sized business (SMB) solutions group for the last three years. Prior to joining Avaya, she held roles with Microsoft and Nortel Networks.

Huawei picks up Infovision award

Infrastructure provider Huawei has picked up an Infovision award for its Quidway ME60 multiservice control gateway (MSCG) product.

The firm won the award in the network core innovation and advances category of Infovision’s awards. The Quidway ME60 MSCG is described as a next-generation multi-service edge solution designed to meet challenges in the transformation toward a customer- centric internet protocol (IP) architecture network for multi-play applications.
