India plans Overseas Centre in Abu Dhabi

The Centre, earlier planned in Dubai, aims to improve interaction with Indian expats in Gulf.

An Overseas Indian Centre will be set up in Abu Dhabi to facilitate better interaction with the Indian community in the Gulf.

The Centre was earlier planned to be established in Dubai, reports the PTI newswire.

The Union Cabinet approved the change of the Centre's  location, on Thursday. Initially, the Centre was schedule to come in Dubai, Home Minister P Chidambaram informed.

Functional requirements necessitated the change of the location of headquarter of the Centre, he added.
