Dubai carrier takes top spot in the latest Advocacy Rankings, followed by Emaar Properties
Emirates is the most trusted brand in the UAE, according to latest research from YouGov.
The Dubai carrier took top spot in the Advocacy Rankings, produced by YouGov’s daily brand tracking tool BrandIndex, which asked the questions, "Would you recommend the brand to a friend or colleague?" or “Would you tell a friend or colleague to avoid the brand?”
Emirates was followed on the list by Emaar and Almarai.
Emirates NBD witnessed the greatest movement within the top 10 list, climbing up four places to fifth in the 2019 rankings.
But while iPhone and WhatsApp remain in the same spot from 2018 - fourth and seventh, respectively - Apple saw the worst decline among the top ten brands, moving down five places to tenth in the 2019 rankings. Google moved down three places to ninth this year.
Carrefour made a re-entry at sixth after falling out of the list last year, while Singapore Airlines made a fresh entry into the rankings at eight.
Saudi’s payment network mada took number one spot in the kingdom. While Almarai seems to be winning back Saudi consumers after the price rise debacle last year and moved up one place in the rankings to eighth this year.
Similar to the UAE, technology brands experienced a flat year in Saudi - iPhone and its parent brand Apple witnessed the greatest decline year on year. While iPhone slipped from third to fourth in 2018 and now seventh in 2019, Apple fell from second to sixth in 2018, and to ninth in 2019 rankings.
Majid Al Futtaim, Sentosa Island (Singapore) and IMG Worlds of Adventure (Dubai) were new entrants in the top 10 list for Saudi Arabia - at fifth, sixth and tenth, respectively.
YouGov also revealed the brands that have the most improved level of customer advocacy over the past 12 months. In the UAE, Pakistan International Airlines saw the biggest improvement in its recommend score this year (up 18.1 points). In Saudi, Mobily recorded the greatest improvement (of 10.5 points).
In the UAE, Chinese manufacturer Huawei is the third best improver and in Saudi it is seventh in the list of top 10 improvers in the country. For all the latest industry news from the UAE and Gulf countries, follow us on Twitter and Linkedin, like us on Facebook and subscribe to our YouTube page, which is updated daily.
