Dubai-based fintech PayBy announced the launch of a Point of Sale (POS) payment solution for merchants in the UAE, setting new standards for the local financial payments landscape.

The innovative technology, which the company claimed as first-of-its-kind, allows merchants to generate payment links and QR codes directly from the POS device, eliminating the need for external devices and facilitating the collection of payments online and offline.

PayBy’s comprehensive payment support

PayBy, part of Astra Tech, said its advanced POS technology supports a full range of payment systems, including banks, bank cards, Alipay Plus, WeChat, Potem digital wallets, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, NFC payments, and more.

“Generating payment links and QR codes from the POS device is a game changer for the industry, providing merchants with unprecedented levels of security and ease in accepting remittances from a diverse range of local and global customers,” the company said in a media release.

Abdullah Abu Al Sheikh, Founder of Astra Tech, said being the only merchant in the UAE that offers payment links and QR codes directly from our terminals is a significant achievement.

“This integrated solution provides our merchants in various sectors with the flexibility and efficiency to operate seamlessly within and outside the UAE’s online market,” he said.

PayBy, citing data from the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, said the UAE is home to over 450,000 merchants operating across multiple sectors.

According to a survey conducted by Visa, these merchants reported facing a number of challenges, with 65 percent of them reporting difficulties in managing multiple payment systems and integrating transactions in person or online.

The company said the strength of PayBy’s new POS solution lies in its ability to provide a full suite of payment options that cater to online and direct transactions, ensuring that merchants have all the tools they need to succeed.
