A Kuwaiti teenager is reported to have hacked into several bank accounts, in what is believed to be the first such incident in the country.
A local newspaper reported that a police investigation began after several people complained to their banks that money had been withdrawn from their accounts. Although the customers still had possession of their ATM cards, it emerged that the youth responsible had managed to clone them using electronic parking tickets.
Authorities did not disclose how much money had been withdrawn, or which banks in Kuwait had been affected.
