Last week’s cover story on Qatar’s Finance Centre (QFC) generated an enormous amount of response with many readers delighted to see evidence of another regional financial hub pushing the boundaries and aiming as high as it can to be the best in class. As one of our news stories suggests Deutsche Bank is the latest business to spot the early opportunities that Qatar holds with more and more licences, 33 so far, being approved by the QFC and its men in charge Stuart Pearce and Phillip Thorpe. With the Qatari government set to splash out US$130bn in future investments by 2012 who can blame them?
