Dubai will spend $118 million on new projects to expand the emirate’s sewerage and stormwater network.
The projects include a new wastewater network for the Dubai Academic City as well as a new sewerage processing plant for worker accommodation, state news agency WAM said.
Bids have also been submitted to the local authority for the construction of the main irrigation network in the Al Aweer area of the city.
Dubai is currently spending around $430 million on projects to expand its sewerage network which is under increasing pressure from the city’s burgeoning population and a real estate boom that is adding thousands of new apartments, villas and hotels to the emirate.
