UAE-based Azizi Developments has announced that it has overhauled the designs of its upcoming homes to appeal to customers’ post-pandemic needs.
Amid the substantial changes in preferences due to the implications of the pandemic on residential developments, Azizi Developments said it has redefined several of its soon-to-be launched designs.
The developer said the importance of foyers has risen, as they act as separators between the outdoors and indoors, allowing one’s home to be kept safe from the threat of coronavirus.
Azizi said it is now also integrating more non-porous materials that are easier to clean and thereby reduce the likelihood of contamination.
Workspace at home is also becoming increasingly important for adults to work from home and children to pursue e-learning so Azizi said its new units are designed with larger, dedicated, and secluded work areas with more suitable furniture, for these purposes.
Moreover, additional amendments to balcony sizes and outdoor spaces have been made, with larger such spaces now being higher in demand.
Mohamed Ragheb Hussein, chief development officer at Azizi Developments, said: “Even post-pandemic, we will see these trends continue. Home office is becoming increasingly prevalent, and families feel safer spending more time in their own space. Homes have turned into offices, playgrounds, cinemas, restaurants and more – a trend that is here to last. It is of the utmost importance for us to design solutions that meet these needs and keep our valued customers safe and comfortable.”
Recently, Azizi Developments announced the addition of a 2.7km crystal lagoon covering an area of over 130,026 square metres that will stretch across the entirety of its flagship Riviera community being built in Dubai.
Located in the heart of MBR City, Riviera is planned to comprise 71 mid-rise buildings with approximately 16,000 residences upon its completion and features three districts – an extensive retail boulevard, the lagoon walk with artisan eateries and boutiques and Les Jardins — a vast, lush-green social space.
Azizi currently has approximately 100 ongoing projects that are to be delivered between 2020 and 2023, and an additional 100+ projects in planning, worth several billion dollars, that are projected to be delivered between 2023 and 2025.
