The Intercontinental Residential Suites is inviting companies to tender for the waste management, pest control and landscaping and security contracts.
Hotel manager, Steven Greenwood, said: “As part of company policy we require a minimum of three quotes.
“All successful contractors will be inducted and trained by the InterContinental hotel team. We have a duty to care for our external suppliers, it’s not simply a matter of getting a quote and signing a contract. All contractors will abide by the fire, life and safety regulations set by the hotel management team.”
He went on to explain that the contractor must match the hotel’s corporate values. If a particular company is environmentally friendly, InterContinental would prefer to use them as it reflects its commitment to environmental issues.
Also, all security companies expressing an interest in the tender, must have completed the training provided by the Civil Defence, which is now a legal requirement.
As with most hotels, the cleaning, catering and mainteance will be managed in-house.
