Construction has begun on one of Egypt’s largest projects, Metro Line 4, as reported by Construction Week.

The metro line in phase 1 includes 12 stations including Hadayek El Ashgar, Hadayek El ‎Ahram, El Nasr, Grand ‎Egyptian Museum, El Remaya Square, El Ahram, El Marrioutiya, Al Areesh, El Matbaa, El Talbiya, Madkour, and El Mesaha Square.

On Sunday, the project was inspected by the CEO and chairman of the Arab Contractors Company, Sayed Farouk. The rail is expected to transport 2 million passengers everyday, a monorail service is also expected to be integrated with the metro line.

He reviewed two stations, production plans and demanded maximum operating capacity. The chairman also inspected the concrete segment production facility that will form the tunnel body of the metro line.

Progress has taken place in station no. 4, station no. 6 and work is ongoing in station no. 10.

The metro line will be the link between 6 October City and New Cairo, high density population areas will benefit from the new transport service such as areas like Giza, El Haram, Faysal and El Omraniya.
