Soletanche Bachy of France has teamed up with National Services and Contracting to take the US $208 million (AED764 million) sea wall construction package on Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi.
The scope of work includes the design and construction of 10km of reinforced concrete diaphragm walls – to be cast in place – and 3.2km of sloping rock revetment.
Negotiations are also underway for a third contract for internal canal walls within the development, which could be worth up to $100 million.
Tenders were also received from VSL Middle East, Intrafor Hong Kong and Keller Corp of the UK, and Middle East Foundations, Moebius Emirates Construction and Six Construct.
