G42 said construction of Stargate UAE, a 1-gigawatt artificial intelligence infrastructure cluster in Abu Dhabi, is well underway as work accelerates on the first 200MW phase of the project.
The facility, being developed by Khazna Data Centers, a G42 company, forms part of the 5GW UAE-US AI Campus and is scheduled to go live in 2026.
G42 said civil, structural and architectural work is “well advanced,” while mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems are being finalised. The company confirmed that all long-lead equipment has been procured and the site has received its first mechanical system deliveries.
Unveiled in May with global partners OpenAI, Oracle, NVIDIA, Cisco and SoftBank, Stargate UAE is designed to serve as the cornerstone of the country’s national AI infrastructure.
The complex will host up to 1GW of computing capacity once complete, enabling large-scale model training and data-driven research within a sovereign framework.
Khazna has adopted a design-to-build approach intended to compress the project timeline and ensure continuity from concept to execution.
G42 said the development supports its broader “Intelligence Grid” vision – a network of AI clusters linking the UAE to global partners and advancing its ambition to become a leading hub for compute and innovation.
