An Indian worker died after falling from the eighth-floor of a high-rise tower under construction in Ras Al Khaimah.
The 27-year-old victim was taken to Saqr Hospital after concrete blocks then crushed him after falling from a crane, where he later died.
The accident occurred at a building on Oman Street in Al Nakheel area. Investigations are on-going, UAE daily Gulf News reported on Tuesday.
The construction of the eighth floor had been completed and the man was cleaning up. He had taken the construction debris and was emptying it in a container attached to the crane, witnesses said.
One witness said that as he emptied the debris into the container, the crane moved, overturning the container and he fell. He was crushed under the debris.
His colleagues tried desperately to dig him out. Police were called and he was dug out of the rubble.
