Seven rescued in second marina site accident

Emergency services rescue labourers after scaffolding collapses on Dubai Marina job site.

Seven labourers were rescued by emergency services on Wednesday after scaffolding collapsed on their job site in Dubai Marina, the second construction site accident to occur in the luxury real estate development this month.

Rescue workers were last Wednesday night still trying to free four others from the debris. The status of the remaining trapped labourers is not yet known.

On November 8 a bridge collapse in Dubai Marina killed seven Indian workers and injured at least 24 others.

Dubai’s Road and Transport Authority (RTA), responsible for all road construction in Dubai, has launched an investigation into the events that led to the collapse of the bridge.
