Austria based Diametral Concepts in Glass Company, showcased its latest flooring innovation, in the designers corner of Domotex exhibition, held in Dubai this week.
“We developed this project in five years,” said Tom de Kort, managing director, Diametral. “It’s two layers of glass with a layer of Swarovski crystal mesh in between. The trick here is that we invented a special glue where the crystals do not loose their sparkle. With normal glues they just look like plastic, but this product is infinite – it wall always shine in between the glass panels – this goes for the furniture and mirror designs too.”
Being the first company in the world to introduce the concept of a Swarovski Crystal floor, Diametral has completed, and is in the process of finishing projects all across the GCC region.
“We have just finished two projects in the GCC, one is a major project in a hotel As seagal hotel, the other is a new VIP night club in Dubai, set to open in the next couple of months, and we are hopefully going to be doing a nice project in a casino in Las Vegas too,” said Kort.
“We are the only ones in the world that can produce floor and wall tiles with Swarovski Crystals that can sparkle like this. In five years time I think we will be the supplier of the most exclusive product in the region,” he added.
