Austrian construction firm Strabag is set to begin building a US $169 million (HUF33 billion) cement plant in Kiralyegyhaza, southern Hungary, this September.
The plant, which is expected to produce 830,000 tonnes of cement per year with 100 employees, should be finished by 2009.
Strabag plans to use most of the cement for its own projects in the region, but will also export to the domestic and regional market.
Strabag is a major provider of building services in Central and Eastern Europe, and employs over 45,000 workers in over 500 locations across Europe.
