Kersten Europe has won a contract worth US $4 million (AED14 million) from Arabian Aluminium for tube bending work at the Burj Dubai.
The contract involves the bending and fabrication of around 9.5km of architectural and structural stainless steel tubes, which will be used for the Burj Dubai building maintenance unit system.
Work also includes the supply, fabrication and finishing of stainless steel brackets, along with fixing the brackets to the bent tubes.
“Kersten Europe’s proven record of complex projects across Europe and the Middle East was one of the reasons for securing this challenging contract,” said Rabih Ayash, regional director of sales & marketing, Kersten Europe.
Kersten is currently involved in other projects in the Gulf including the Kuwait Trade Centre and the Shaqab Equestrian Academy in Doha, Qatar.
The company also worked on the Doha Sports City Tower and the Burj Al Arab.
Work on the steel structure of the Burj Dubai is now under-way after Malaysia’s Eversendai Corporation was awarded the $14.7 million structural steelworks contract.
The company will require more than 4,000 tonnes of steel for the job.
