Innoventures Education schools report 16% increase in enrolments

Dubai’s Innoventures Education, which operates schools including Dubai International Academy and Raffles, is feeling the positive effects of the emirate’s booming economy and surging expatriate population, saying new student enrolment has increased by 16 per cent this year.

The increase ranges from 20 per cent to 40 per cent across specific class groups. The group has also unveiled an Early Childhood Centre (ECC) at DIA Al Barsha, catering to children up to three years old. This is the first ECC within Dubai’s largest school campus.

Poonam Bhojani, CEO, Innoventures Education said: “The remarkable surge in student enrolment underlines our commitment to providing exceptional learning experiences that resonate with both students and parents.

“With a focus on talent recruitment and retention, we are poised to drive student achievements to even greater heights. Over the summer, staff members underwent extensive training, induction, and team-building sessions, ensuring a seamless transition into the academic year.”

Bhojani said that Innoventures schools is embracing cutting-edge technology, including AI tools such as ChatGPT, and integrating gamification, into the learning experience.

School facilities have been revamped with enhancements to prepare students for a digitally-driven future. The schools are pivoting from conventional classroom setups to dynamic learner-centric pedagogy, accompanied by flexible spatial arrangements.

Aligned with UAE’s Year of Sustainability and the upcoming COP28 summit in November in Dubai, Innoventures Education is embedding eco-consciousness in all aspects of its schools.

“We will be implementing several sustainability initiatives, embedded in classroom and extracurricular activities, in the lead up to COP 28 and beyond. In the Year of Sustainability, our students have been passionate eco-ambassadors with initiatives such as tree planting, reducing plastic, recycling fashion competitions, hydroponics, and using solar energy,” Bhojani added.

Innoventures Education students performed well above global averages at the 2023 IBDP, A-levels, and GCSE examinations, culminating in remarkable results, first-choice university placements, and scholarships exceeding $12.5m.

Beyond academics, Bhojani said Innoventures Education will continue supporting Dubai Cares. The group’s GIVE initiative has contributed over AED2.75m ($750,000) to Dubai Cares so far, helping build nine schools in Nepal, Yemen, and Senegal. Half of this amount has been raised by the school communities, through activities like students’ walkathons, bake sales, festive markets, inter-class competitions and dress-up days that support the ‘Adopt a School’ initiative by Dubai Cares. Rest has been contributed by the group.

Innoventures Education currently serves nearly 9,000 students from more than 120 countries, overseen by a team of 1,500 teachers and support staff. Five Innoventures Education schools –Dubai International Academy Emirates Hills and Al Barsha, Collegiate International School, Raffles International School, and Raffles World Academy, along with the Raffles Early Childhood Centres offer diverse curriculum frameworks including International Baccalaureate, UK National Curriculum, American Common Core, BTEC and Early Years Foundation System.
