BG Group chairman said to join Saudi Aramco board

Andrew Gould believed to have replaced ex Chevron boss at table of world’s largest oil firm

British oil and gas giant BG Group’s chairman has joined the board of directors at Saudi Aramco, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

According to the news agency, Andrew Gould will serve a three-year term at the world’s largest oil company and attended his first board meeting earlier in summer.

The sources told Bloomberg that Gould has replaced David O’Reilly, an ex chairman and CEO at Chevron, who had served on the Aramco board from 2010 until earlier in 2013.

Spokespeople at BG Group and Aramco did not confirm the appointment.

Other board members at Aramco are believed to include former World Bank director Peter Woicke, ex Royal Dutch Shell chairman Mark Moody-Stuart and Saudi Arabia’s minister of petroleum Ali Al-Naimi.
