Gulf Navigation Holding has started the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) work for the naphtha development project that will help produce Euro5-compliant gasoline in Fujairah.
The project is being executed through Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investments (BPGIC), its wholly-owned subsidiary.
The kick-off meeting for this phase of the design work has officially begun. The company is implementing the FEED scope along with the Italian company PEG, and with Honeywell UOP as the provider of licensed technologies.
The FEED work is expected to take approximately nine months, subject to the progress of the artwork and related engineering requirements.
The first phase of the project targets an estimated design capacity of about 15,000 barrels per day.
Saif Al-Hazaymeh, CEO of Gulf Navigation Holding and Brooge Petroleum and Gas Investments Company, said: “The commencement of detailed engineering design work represents an important stage in the progress of the refinery project and reflects its transition to a more advanced operational level in terms of technical and engineering preparation.”
BPGIC confirmed that the project is in line with the UAE’s directions aimed at developing petroleum industries and enhancing local added value, in addition to supporting the development of national competencies in the fields of refining, operation and maintenance.
