Orange nets IP network contract from Statoil

Norwegian state oil company Statoil has awarded a contract to Orange Business Services to deliver network infrastructure and manage its international IP network.

Norwegian state oil company Statoil has awarded a contract to Orange Business Services to deliver network infrastructure and manage its international IP network.

The three-year deal, valued at around US $12.4 million, includes 40 sites in 23 countries worldwide.

“Orange Business Services is covering most of our offices and has a solid and robust infrastructure with a high degree of uptime,” said Ole Petter Drange, head of infrastructure at Statoil. “Over many years, Orange Business Services has proven capable of delivering according to our requirements, and we expect delivery times for new connections to be minimised.”

Orange Business Services has been operating and servicing Statoil’s international IT network since 1999. The new contract resulted from an open tender competition, in which many market players took part.
