DHA releases clinic guidelines

A policy guide for medical facilities signing up for Dubai’s new healthcare scheme is to be released in a matter of weeks.

A policy guide for medical facilities signing up for Dubai’s new healthcare scheme is to be released in a matter of weeks.

The guidelines will list the registration procedure for clinics hoping to be listed as outpatient care practices (OCPs).

All size clinics, from one-doctor surgeries to multispeciality polyclinics, are eligible to apply said Simon Hodges, senior advisor on the project.

“We want the ability for all of those facilities to survive.

“If you are looking after patients in 2008, the belief is that you will continue looking after those patients in 2009.”

Under the new health plan, qualifying clinics will receive a fixed fee for each registered patient. The sum, which has yet to be announced, will be taken from a central fund paid for by employers or sponsors.

The guidelines will be available to download from the Medical Times website arabianbusiness.com/healthcare.
