Dubai maternity wards have received a final warning to comply with new care standards or face closure.
The Department of Health and Medical Services (DoHMS) issued official notification of the new guidelines, established last year, adding that private hospitals will face spot-checks to ensure they are implementing the new rules.
In a letter to hospitals, Ahmed Nasser Lootah, director of the licensing and specification department said: “Healthcare facilities which do not fulfill DoHMS criteria will be subject to ceasing services and site visits will be conducted to ensure the implementation of standards.”
