The country also ranked in 20th place in the world and first in the MENA regions in terms of the most valuable national brand.

The UAE has ranked first in the Middle East and North Africa in Brand Finance’s ‘National Trademark’ report, which tracks the most valuable and influential brands in 100 countries around the world.

The report measures the brand’s strength and value, with a focus on goods, services, investment and society.

The UAE ranked sixth globally, and was followed by Finland, Japan, the US and Denmark.

The country also ranked in 20th place in the world and first in the MENA regions in terms of the most valuable national brand, ahead of Belgium, Singapore, Denmark and Finland.

“Competitiveness is now an essential part of the UAE’s work system and lifestyle, and it ranks first in many indicators and reports from around the world,” said Hanan Ahli, executive director of the competitiveness sector of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority.

The report also showed that China – which came in second in terms of national brand value, at $1,947 trillion – has narrowed the gap between itself and the United States, which came in first with a total brand value of $2,775tr.

Germany came in third ($485tr), followed by Japan ($453tr) and the UK ($385tr).

Additionally, the report found that the national brand value of developing economies rose 13.9 percent, compared to only 0.4 percent in advanced economies in 2019.
