Abu Dhabi re-opened some parks and public beaches at 40 percent capacity on Friday, with strict precautionary health measures in place to ensure the safety of the public amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The re-opening covers cover the Umm Al Emarat Park, Khalifa Park-Abu Dhabi, Salimi Park in Al Ain, and Madinat Zayed Public Park in Al Dhafrah. Included in the first phase as well are the Corniche Public Beach, Al Hudayriat Beach and Al Al Mirfa Beach in Al Dhafrah.
Other re-openings are expected to be announced at a later date.
In a statement, Abu Dhabi authorities outlined a number of restrictions that visitors have to comply with, including pre-booking via the Smart Hub platform, showing Covid-19 testing results via the Alhosn app and taking body temperature upon arrival.
Visitors have to wear face masks at all times and ensure that social distancing is kept.
Additionally, capacity at these locations is reduced to 40 percent, with parking reduced to 50 percent.
F&B outlets at these locations will operate at 30 percent seating capacity, with a maximum of four people allowed per table. Tables must be spaced at least 2.5 metres apart, with only disposable cutlery used and regular cleaning carried out.
All working staff have to wear masks and gloves at all times.
