Nearly two thirds of Gulf firms questioned as a part of a new survey intend to hire freelance employees in order to boost their staff count, it was announced on Sunday.
According to a new survey by video conferencing and office fit-out providers Regus, 68 percent of Gulf firms intend to increase their staff numbers over the next two years, with 61 percent targeting freelance staff over full time employees.
“There’s a clear sense of bullishness and dynamism in the UAE and the Gulf, and businesses want to invest in people and growth. Using Regus workspace allows them to expand quickly and cost-effectively, confident that they can rapidly scale up or down in response to market conditions,” said Joanne Bushell, vice president for Regus in the Middle East and Africa.
The Regus survey also revealed that business confidence among Gulf firms was higher than the global average, with 55 percent of surveyed businesses reporting revenue growth and 45 percent profit growth.
