Rishabh Pant, wicketkeeper for the Indian cricket team was hospitalised after his car hit the divider and burst into flames. He reportedly suffered a ligament tear and cuts above his forehead.
Pant managed to escape the car on time and was admitted to the hospital where he recently underwent minor plastic surgery on the forehead.
“Rishabh Pant underwent a minor plastic surgery near his forehead. A 3-member DDCA team is reaching Dehradun in an hour. BCCI is constantly in touch with the doctors at Max Hospital and with Pant’s family. He is currently stable and out of danger. We are yet to decide whether he needs to be shifted to Delhi or not,” said DDCA director Shyam Sharma, reported NDTV.
The accident took place on the Delhi-Dehradun highway in the early hours of Friday.
According to pictures of the crash, the car seems to have extensive damage from the impact and fire.
Pant reportedly lost control of the car after dozing off for a few seconds, reported Reuters.
