Document confirms earlier Arabian Business reports

Dubai Bling

Cast members of Dubai Bling were paid just $2,500 per episode for their appearance in the reality TV show, a contract seen by Arabian Business revealed.

“Talent shall, for the first season of the Programme be entitled to a remuneration calculated on the basis of [2,500 USD] (Two Thousand Five Hundred US Dollars) per episode that [REDACTED] participated and/or appears in,” the contract read.

The news confirms leaks published last week by Arabian Business.

The contract also confirms that cast members will receive a 5 percent salary bump from production company DIFFERENT PRODUCTIONS in season 2 of Dubai Bling, which has already begun filming.

“In the event that Talent is retained for a subsequent season, the Remuneration shall apply to such subsequent season(s), and DIFFERENT PRODUCTIONS reserves the right to apply no more than a 5 percent seasonal increase,” the contract read.

The public reveal of the cast members salary has caused huge embarrassment to members of the show who have been demanding considerably higher sums for public appearances. Meanwhile, Netflix has launched an investigation into the source of the salary leaks, with one source at the company telling Arabian Business that they are “determined to find the mole” who leaked the information.

The contract has revealed that cast members were forced to sign away their “moral rights.”

Dubai Bling focuses on the lives of ten Dubai-based “millionaires.”

While the cast of Dubai Bling have been paid only $2,500 per episode, Netflix has a track record of handing over significant cash for celebrity involvement in its reality TV shows.

For instance, the Kardashians were paid $100 million for two seasons and 40 episodes of The Kardashians, according to Variety. Some of the family earned around $15 million each for filming.

Netflix is valued at $160 billion, with revenues of $7.85 billion in the fourth quarter of 2022. It also added an additional 7.66 million subscribers during the same period.
