Eyeheight scores in Egypt

Beeaty, Al-Rafedien and O-TV select Eyeheight’s vistaSDI vision switcher.

Three major broadcasters based in Egypt, namely, Beeaty Channel, Al-Rafedien Channel and the recently-launched O-TV, selected Eyeheight’s vistaSDI A/B vision switcher for their respective headquarters.

Beeaty, the first channel in the Middle East to specialise in weather and the environment, has chosen vistaSDI for installation at its main transmission control station, located in the Nilesat facility at 6 October City, Egypt. Al-Rafedien Channel, an Iraqi news channel, has invested in vistaSDI for installation in the master control room at its headquarters within Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC). O-TV, also located at EMPC, has selected an Eyeheight vistaSDI A/B vision switcher for installation for its own MCR. As at Al-Rafedien Channel, the switcher will be used to ensure smooth transitions between the video servers and the studio output.

Launched on January 30, 2007, O-TV is a general entertainment channel that targets Egyptian youth, and reflects Egyptian life and society. Its programming is a combination of OTV-developed and acquired content, including movies, episodic programmes and live shows. O-TV is the first in a series of culture, arts and music channels planned by the O-Media Group for the region.

“Eyeheight’s vistaSDI is an A/B SDI mixer with full 10 bit SDI processing and programmable mix times,” says Gilbert Viegas, sales manager for Eyeheight Middle East. “We have had good response from the Middle East for this product and have a few more bigger projects in the pipeline,” he adds.
