Harris holds DAM seminar in Dubai

Harris held a three-day seminar in Dubai last month

Harris held a three-day seminar in Dubai last month. The first of the three days was aimed at educating end users in the region about the vendor’s digital asset management (DAM) solutions, while the second and third day were used to give its regional resellers and distributors hands-on training on its entire range of products.

“This is the first time Harris has done such an event in the region,” says Said Bacho. The first day attracted about 40 people from different parts of the Middle East including the UAE, Lebanon, Qatar, Oman and Kuwait. “At the seminar, we focused on digital asset management with special emphasis on H-Plus DAM and how it enables a broadcaster to make the transition from tape-based management to digital media in an easy and smooth way,” he adds.

At the seminar, Harris also unveiled for the first time H-Plus’s support for Arabic. “This is the first international launch of the Arabic voice recognition function. Instead of typing in information for indexing and cataloguing, end users can use the voice recognition software to do the job,” adds Bacho.

Bacho also mentioned that some deals will be closed following the seminar. However, he declined from commenting further on the deals.
