Arab Digital Distribution (ADD) said on Wednesday it would broadcast the UK’s royal wedding live to millions of subscribers across the MENA region.

The live broadcast will be available on ADD’s First Net bouquet of programmes and will be shown on ITV Granada, the company, one of the largest pay TV platform management companies in the Middle East, said in a statement.

ITV Granada will show live, and uninterrupted, coverage of what has been dubbed as the wedding of the century, from 11.30am (UAE time) on Friday.

Billions of people worldwide are expected to watch live TV coverage of the wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, to which many royals from the Gulf region have been invited.

Majed Sahelli, managing director, Pehla Media & Entertainment, a group company of ADD, said: “Since the announcement, the royal wedding has dominated headlines worldwide. ADD is happy to bring the live coverage of the most awaited event of the recent times on its ITV Granada channel.

“We expect a very high tune-in to the live coverage across MENA as the intrigue and charm of British royalty in general and Prince William who has earned the epithet of Prince Charming, in particular, cuts across nationalities.”

ITV Granada also brings UK programmes such as Dancing On Ice, Agatha Christie’s Poirot, Come Dine With Me, and The Chase, to audiences in the MENA region.
