Showtime Arabia has added the Travel Channel to its network effective January 1st 2007 as part of its efforts to deliver more content that is relevant to families. The channel provides the latest information on the hottest tourist destinations; history and culture from diff erent parts of the world; photography of the natural world from all of the continents; information on adventure holidays for thrill seekers and expert reviews on everything from countries to holiday resorts for all of the family.
Azhar Malik, vice president of marketing for Showtime Arabia, says the decision to add this content now, is in line with the latest evolution of Showtime’s strategy ‘to bring the very best documentaries and sport as desired by our customers’.
“We will continue to develop our portfolio with more relevant programmes for the whole family. Over 140 new shows are planned for the near future and will go towards enhancing the overall package with all the family in mind,” Malik says.
In addition to adding the Travel Channel, Showtime Arabia will also add Top Gear and Monster Garage, two well known motoring programmes, and Discovery Science to its portfolio from the New Year.
