Most people who talk a good game tend to fall short when it comes to delivering the goods. They can hype, they can spin, but they can’t produce.

At first glance, Sheeraz Hasan is a classic example of this. There are few better self-promoters around then the founder of Hollywood.TV, the internet TV channel that is now coming to Dubai in the shape of Dubai.TV.

But Hasan is a rare exception to the rule. His numbers do add up. In fact, independent analysts have put a $1bn price tag on the empire he started from scratch just four years ago.

Hasan has become the toast of Tinseltown, and I expect he will do the same in Dubai. Dubai.TV – initially run as a small internet business, reporting on “Dubai as it happens” will cover just about everything going on in the emirate. Initial reaction has been hugely positive, and his $1bn price tag may soon rise, and rise fast.

He is living proof that just spin, or just substance, don’t always work. Put them together, and watch the money flow.
