Abu Dhabi reports 102% increase in residential rental contracts in first half of 2024

These figures indicate a robust rental market across Abu Dhabi’s regions, with the capital city leading the growth

Abu Dhabi has reported a substantial increase in documented residential rental contracts for the first half of 2024, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) said in a statement.

The Statistics Centre—Abu Dhabi revealed that 49,135 contracts were registered during this period, marking a 102 percent year-on-year growth from the 24,324 contracts recorded in the same period of 2023.

The city of Abu Dhabi itself accounted for the majority of these contracts, with 43,985 registrations. This represents a 104.9 percent increase from the 21,465 contracts documented in the first half of 2023.

Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region records doubled rental agreements

Al Ain City also experienced significant growth, with 4,819 contracts registered in the first half of 2024, up 77 percent from 2,715 contracts in the same period of 2023.

The Al Dhafra region saw an increase as well, with 331 contracts recorded in the first half of 2024, compared to 144 contracts in the corresponding period of the previous year.

June 2024 recorded the second-highest growth in documented contracts on a year-on-year basis, following the peak increase observed in March.
