Oman records $4.9bn property transactions in H1

Total traded value of Omani real estate deals rises by more than 52% in the first half of 2015

The total traded value of Omani real estate transactions reached $4.9bn (OMR1.9bn) in H1 2015, an increase with 52.6 percent compared to $3.1bn (OMR1.2bn) recorded during the same period in 2014.

The collected fees of all the legal transactions reached $54m (OMR21m), reporting an increase of 10.4 percent. The traded value of the sales contracts also increased 1.5 percent to reach $1.4bn (OMR540m).

The volume of sales contracts by the end H1 2015 numbered 35,530, as compared to 36,902 contracts during the same period in 2014, comprising a decrease of 3.7 percent.

The volume of mortgage contracts registered during H1 2015 totalled 9,383 contracts, as compared to 8,703 contracts registered during the same period in 2014, with an increase by 7.8 percent.

Oman News Agency revealed that property title deeds issued by the end of H1 2015 numbered 105,891 as compared with 100,076 issued in 2014, reflecting an increase of 5.8 percent.

Property title deeds for GCC citizens totalled 1,165 by the end of May 2015 compared with 1,704 title deeds in 2014, comprising a decline by 31.6 percent.
