Alabbar reveals Emaar plan to ‘expand’ Dubai Mall

In a new Instagram video, Emaar founder Mohamed Alabbar revealed that the multinational real estate development company is “planning to renew Dubai Mall, and expand it, as well as change it.”

“We must take care of this mall, as one takes care of their small child,” Alabbar is heard saying in the video.

Dubai Mall went through massive changes in 2023. The mall changed its name and logo in January last year, 15 years after its opening. Moreover, hypermarket giant Lulu also opened a 72,000-square-feet hypermarket in the mall.

Salik, Dubai’s toll gate operator was also recently announced to run the parking system at Dubai Mall, following a recent agreement with Emaar Malls Management.

The mall houses over 1,200 retail stores and over 120 restaurants and cafés.
