Emaar Malls Management (LLC) has unveiled a rent support initiative for food & beverage establishments with terraces overlooking the Lake and Fountain areas at Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar, following the closure of Dubai Fountain.
The property developer will waive rent for affected terrace spaces for four months, from June through September 2025, to help businesses manage potential footfall reduction.

As part of the initiative, Emaar will install 400 metres of digital screens along the promenade to maintain visitor numbers during the fountain’s closure.
The screens will display visual content to animate the location.
“For years, Dubai Fountain and the surrounding lake have contributed significantly to the popularity of these destinations. As we move into a new chapter, this rent support reflects our commitment to long-term partnerships and to helping tenants navigate this transition with resilience and confidence,” Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar said.
The lakeside terraces at both Dubai Mall and Souk Al Bahar have historically attracted diners seeking views of Dubai Fountain’s water shows and the waterfront setting.
Emaar Malls stated that despite the fountain’s closure, the terraces continue to offer city views and dining experiences.
The company expressed its commitment to providing sustainable solutions for businesses across its retail communities.
