Foodmark, part of the Landmark Group, announced on Sunday it is to open its first own-brand restaurant in Dubai in the middle of March.

Wild Ginger, located at Deira City Centre, will be an 80-seat casual dining restaurant offering Asian inspired dishes, the company said in a statement.

Foodmark, which runs number of franchised restaurants within the GCC, will be launching the second Carluccio’s restaurant and Mango Tree Bistro at Mirdif City Centre on March 16.

The company’s second own-brand restaurant, Zafran, will open in May also in Mirdif City Centre, the statement said.

“Foodmark continues to go from strength to strength in the UAE, and we have exciting expansion plans both within the region and the GCC over the next year,” said Steven James, operations manager.

Italian brand Carluccio’s has had a presence in Dubai since its launch in Dubai Mall a year ago. A third restaurant will open during the first week of April in Dubai Marina Mall.

Mango Tree Bistro is part of the Mango Tree franchise from Bangkok. The first branded restaurant in Dubai is located in Souk al Bahar.
