Customers can now buy groceries from LuLu Group via Amazon.ae, as it seeks to deliver an elevated online grocery offering for those in the UAE, the company said in a statement on Wednesday.

Both Amazon and Abu Dhabi-based LuLu Group will work together to give customers a wide selection of products to choose from, which include essentials and fresh grocery items at great prices and faster delivery options, the statement said.

“We are excited to be working with the Amazon team on this journey in the UAE, pairing their advanced technology capabilities with our decades of experience, to offer an innovative online grocery offering. As we roll out this shopping experience in stages, we look forward to connecting with millions of customers shopping on Amazon.ae,” LuLu Group’s chairman and managing director Yusuff Ali said.

The new online grocery on Amazon with Lulu aims to give customers the chance to enjoy a wider grocery selection of high-quality products, including everyday essentials and fresh groceries, at great prices despite LuLu having its own online store, the statement said.

“Such partnerships are what Abu Dhabi and the UAE continue to push for, as we play host to and work to support private sector players in their drive to innovate, provide modern and seamless experiences to customers, and grow as we keep developing a supportive business ecosystem to cement Abu Dhabi’s status as a preferred destination for business and investments,” Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) chairman Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa said.

Customers across the UAE will see the new grocery offering go live in various stages through the LuLu storefront on the Amazon website and mobile application.

“We are always looking for ways to improve the service we deliver to our customers and provide additional benefits to them as they shop with Amazon, and we are confident they will enjoy shopping for groceries through this new offering as we launch it across the UAE,” Amazon MENA’s vice president Ronaldo Mouchawar added.
