UAE petrol prices set to change in 2026

Petrol prices increased for all categories in 2025, with fluctuations driving the cost of filling up higher compared to the start of the year.

Petrol and diesel prices changed on a monthly basis across the entire year, with marginal increases and reductions announced on the final day of each calendar month.

UAE petrol prices changes 2025

Fuel retailers priced E-Plus 91 at AED2.43 a litre and diesel at AED2.68 a litre in January 2025.

On current prices, E-Plus 91 is marginally more expensive (at AED2.51 a litre) than at the start of the year.

Special 95 and Super 98 are also more expensive now than a year ago, increasing from AED2.50 to AED2.58 a litre and AED2.61 to 2.70 a litre respectively.

Since December 1, the cost of filling up vehicles in the UAE has been:

• E-Plus: AED2.51 a litre from AED2.43 in January 2025
• Special 95: AED2.58 a litre from AED2.50 in January 2025
• Super 98: AED2.70 a litre from AED2.61 in January 2025
• Diesel: AED2.85 a litre from AED2.68 in January 2025

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the Fuel Price Committee froze petrol prices in the UAE, preventing any changes.

However, in March 2021, the government lifted the controls as global oil prices began to rise, allowing market forces to determine petrol prices once again.

Moreover, changes in crude oil prices worldwide also influence the fluctuation in petrol prices.
