Abu Dhabi-owned Manchester City are the latest club to be linked with Wigan Athletic’s in-form striker Amr Zaki, according to several media reports in the UK.
The Egyptian international, who is on a season-long loan deal from El Zamalek, grabbed both his side’s goals in the 3-2 defeat at Liverpool on Saturday to bring his tally for the season to seven goals.
Pundits say that Zaki has been the signing of the season so far in the English Premier League and Wigan boss Steve Bruce is keen to keep him at Wigan.
Bruce insists he has an agreement in principle with Egyptian club side El Zamalek to sign Zaki at the end of his loan spell, but the striker has already been linked with a host of Premier League clubs.
City have now joined that long list, with a statement from the Egyptian club reading: “A Zamalek delegation will fly to either Manchester or Abu Dhabi, not determined yet, to hold talks with City representatives over Zaki.”
