Argentine striker Jose Sand is leaving the Lanus football team to join UAE club Al Ain for a reported $10m transfer fee, according to a report.
According to an AFP report, Sand said: “Both clubs have reached agreement and all I have to do is to sign the contract,” said Sand.
Sand became top scorer in the Primera División Argentina for the first time in the Apertura 2008 championship with 15 goals in 19 games.
In Clausura 2009 he became the first player to become top scorer in consecutive tournaments since Diego Maradona in 1980.
Overall Sand scored 50 goals in 67 league matches and six in 12 Copa Libertadores matches.
