The World Cycling Championships in Qatar on October 9-16 will be the first in the Middle East for 95 years.
The UCI Road World Championship will feature more than 1,000 cyclists from 75 countries who will compete at the event.
The competition will comprise 12 events including individual and team time trials as well as road races in elite categories for men and women, reported Doha News.
It will take place in Qatar’s main landmarks, such as the Aspire Zone, Education City and Pearl-Qatar.
Some roads will be closed for the duration of the event. However, organisers said the proposed closure had not yet been approved by authorities.
