Batelco appoints new CEO to lead Bahrain operations

Bahraini telco hires former senior executive from country's telecommunications regulator

Batelco Group has announced the appointment of Mohamed Bubshait as Batelco Bahrain’s new CEO.

Bubshait joins Batelco from the Bahrain Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) where he held the role of general director.

"Mr Bubshait brings a wealth of knowledge and relevant experience that will be invaluable as Batelco continues its evolution as the leading digital solutions provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain," Batelco said in a statement.

Batelco chairman, Sheikh Mohamed Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, said: “Mohamed has shown excellent leadership skills in directing operations in his previous roll. He has vast experience in the communications industry and his knowledge and wide skill set will be invaluable in addressing the many challenges that Batelco Bahrain faces in the rapidly changing communications landscape.”

On Monday, Batelco Group announced the appointment of Muna Al Hashemi as deputy CEO.

Al Hashemi had held the role of Batelco Bahrain CEO since 2015 and joined Batelco as a trainee graduate in 1994.
