Anti-piracy raids on Jordan offices

Jordanian authorities have raided two companies allegedly involved in software piracy as the government steps up its campaign against the use of illegal software.

Computers and CDs containing pirated software were confiscated when the country’s Department of National Library raided the two firms in Amman.

“We call upon the various government departments in Jordan to join us in our campaign to prevent IPR [intellectual property rights] violations,” said Mamoun Al Talhouni, director general of the Department of National Library.
