Dubai-based security distributor solutions provider ComGuard is set to fall under new ownership after managing director Herbert Kamensky confirmed the company had been put up for sale.
His decision to find a buyer for the company, which boasts distribution contracts with Juniper and Kaspersky, follows plans to reduce exposure to the sector and focus on other business areas.

went to press UAE-based consulting and networking training services reseller Spectrum had emerged as the most likely buyer.
Spectrum, which is based out of Knowledge Village in Dubai, is a major Juniper partner and is therefore likely to be enamoured by ComGuard’s Juniper expertise.
Prior to speculation linking Spectrum to ComGuard, Kamensky confirmed talks had taken place with at least one buyer fitting Spectrum’s profile. “There have been discussions with a potential buyer that works in a similar area and there are some strong synergies with their existing business,” he said. Spectrum, which also has a partnership with Foundry Networks, employs 40 consultants across the Middle East and claims to operate the only Juniper Authorised Education Centre in the region.
It provides extensive educational training services and professional services from its base in Dubai and has also stated its intention to establish lab facilities in Egypt, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.
Ajay Singh, CEO at Spectrum, declined to comment on speculation regarding ComGuard.
