Etisalat Nigeria starts commercial services

News follows last year’s acquisition of a 40% stake in new operator from Mubadala.

UAE telecom Etisalat said on Saturday it has started full commercial services in Nigeria, state news agency WAM reported.

Etisalat said in September last year it had bought a 40 percent stake in a new Nigerian telephone operator from Abu Dhabi-based Mubadala Development Co.

“Indeed I am pleased to see Etisalat Nigeria join the fold of Etisalat’s international operations to offer Nigerians access to a new ‘talk’ experience and a totality of Etisalat’s world-class products, and telephony services,” Etisalat’s Group Chairman, Mohammed Hassan Omran, said in a statement.

Etisalat Nigeria’s Acting CEO is Ali Ahmad Yaroof.
