Etisalat starts services in Nigeria

Mobile services launched in Nigeria on Friday

Etisalat has launched its mobile services in Nigeria on Friday.

The operator has launched services in six cities across the country – Lagos, Ibadan, Abuja, Kano, Port–Harcourt and Kaduna – and will roll out services in other parts of the country shortly.

Mohammed Hassan Omran, group chairman of Etisalat commented: “I am pleased to see Etisalat Nigeria join the fold of Etisalat’s international operations, to offer Nigerians access to a new ‘talk’ experience and a totality of Etisalat’s world-class products, and telephony services.”

Etisalat said that aims to provide enhanced quality of service to subscribers, to distinguish itself from existing operators in the country.

The telco attracted nearly one million potential subscribers with a number reservation promotional campaign, that allowed users to reserve mobile numbers for free, as well as offering them free SIM card and a permanent free monthly airtime allowance.
