Vertu,
the UK based luxury mobile phone maker owned by Nokia, is to launch an Arabic
version of its mobile concierge service in January, the company’s president has
said.

Following
the Dubai launch of Vertu’s first smartphone, the company, a subsidiary of
Finnish telecom giant Nokia, is planning further integration into the Gulf
market.

“We
will have, as of January 2011, our concierge service in the local language,” Perry
Oosting, president and CEO of Vertu, told Arabian Business in Dubai.

The
UK firm charges from €3,900 for bespoke units that are all custom-made with
gold, sapphires, rubies, leather and stainless steel.

Phones
are sold with membership to the Vertu Concierge service, a 24-hour service
which users can call to arrange a variety of services.

The
new Arabic service will include Vertu City Brief, an independent recommendation
service written by experts covering 140 cities worldwide.
