Bus collides with truck in western Iran, just latest horror accident on country’s dangerous roads.

Twenty-one people were killed and 11 injured when a bus collided with an oncoming truck in western Iran, a report said on Saturday.

The accident took place around midday (0730 GMT) on Friday between the towns of Hamedan and Malayer, the Etemad newspaper said.

It said the bus had been speeding at the time of the collision and that the truck had been overtaking illegally.

Iran’s roads are among the most dangerous in the world. At least 100,000 people have been killed in road traffic accidents over the past five years in a country of some 70 million people.
